I had a dream my mom was being really mean to me and my son, she took him to school and on their way to school she threw out the window his book bag and all his papers for school and his Lunch money. I was so upset when I found it because it was just lying there all over the road and I didn’t know if my son had even been able to eat lunch at school. Then I was at home and she was yelling at my son, and I was defending them. My son is 16 but all of a sudden he was a little girl , possibly me when I was younger and she said “I wanna stay with nonna I don’t like how moms acting” and I was shocked because my mom ( my sons nonna) was being a jerk but then I said “you don’t have to pick a side” because I felt like the little girl was just trying to make my mom happy
Interpreting dreams can provide valuable insights into your subconscious emotions and experiences. In your dream, the interactions with your mother and son reveal complex dynamics related to family relationships, protection, and the struggle between loyalty and independence.
Mother Figures and Authority: Your mother's aggressive behavior toward you and your son signifies underlying tensions that may exist in your relationship with her. It may reflect feelings of being judged, misunderstood, or feeling out of control when it comes to family dynamics. This part of the dream could symbolize unresolved conflicts or frustration with your mother's influence on you or your parenting approach.
Childhood Representations: The appearance of your son as a little girl resembling you may represent aspects of your inner child—vulnerability, innocence, and a desire for approval. Perhaps it indicates a connection to your own memories or emotions as a child, specifically around feeling the need to please your mother or a longing for her affection and acceptance.
Symbolic Throwing Away: The act of your mother throwing away your son's backpack and lunch money symbolizes a loss of security and support in your life. It may represent fears of inadequacy or concerns about your son’s well-being and future. This action could also signify feelings of being overwhelmed, as if important parts of your life or responsibilities are being disregarded or dismissed.
Defending Your Son: Your instinct to defend your son against your mother indicates a protective maternal instinct. This suggests a conflict between honoring your mother as a parental figure while also asserting your own authority as a mother. It highlights the struggle of wanting to shield your child from negativity and also the desire to balance family loyalties.
Choosing Sides: The dialogue in the dream about “not having to pick a side” reveals your concern about divided loyalties. It portrays a wish for harmony within the family and a longing for your son to feel safe and loved regardless of external tensions. This sentiment could reflect your fears of your son being influenced negatively by your mother or losing his respect for you as a mom.
Overall, the dream encapsulates a desire to navigate complex feelings around authority, childhood innocence, and the intersection of generational family dynamics. It may suggest an opportunity for you to reflect on your relationship with your mother and how it impacts your parenting style, as well as a need to establish boundaries that safeguard your son and encourage personal authenticity.
